I'm looking at picking up one of these to run my boston pro 6.5s up front. How's the SQ on this amp? So far the reviews I've read about it are positive but I'm not certain that some of these people really knew what they were talking about.
I've heard of a lot of PPI amps overheating, is this one of those buggers? Would it be better than the Kicker ZX460 I've been running for about 6 months? It sounded pretty damn good but I couldn't stand the crossover ships and how hard it seemed to find extra chips and modules... anyways, back on topic, let me know what some of you guys think please & thanks |
They're both excellent performers.
The PPI is rated higher in power but the ZX is underrated more than the PPI so they're likely fairly close real world. I'm guessing you're bridging it into two channels? My decision would likely come down to the one least abused and in the best condition. |
listen to the man above. i've played with both amps, and if properly tuned, i'm reasobably sure you won't be able to tell any difference in SQ.
think reliability. |
okay thanks guys

Personally, I would keep the ZX and buy an external electronic crossover.

Loved the sound of the "Art Series" tho it was a tad bright with some speakers for my taste, otherwise it's a flawless performer and may be considered by some as a "collector" item.
