dash kits arent actually that expensive are they? or is it just the mazda?
why not find a good deck with a 'complimentary colour' instead of pulling hairs singling it down because of one colour?

i played with a display case JVC deck and the colour feature is pretty cool i guess

The OP posted the vehicle on page 1. 2002 Mazda 6. The dash kits are very involved on those cars and limit you to a single DIN sized deck.

I'd go with the JVC unit, especially the KD-R800. Used them and installed them on a first hand basis many times and have not been dissappointed. Definetly not a hardcore SQ fan's deck, but it is for sure going to do what it sounds like you want it to do. The KD-R600 and KD-R400 are less expensive alternatives that will at the very least give you the amber/orange colour you're looking for

I was looking at the KD-R900 actually, atm it's my top pick.

The Mazda 6 radio/HVAC panel has circuitry that needs to be modified for a DIN sized aftermarket deck. Metra is the only one I've found that has the dash kit I need. It is anywhere from $150-$250.

I have seen a double-DIN one in Europe, but the hazard switch is relocated and they are more expensive.

The 900 is solid as well. Wasn't sure how much you wanted to spend, so I went lower rather than higher. Sounds like you've found what you're looking for......

Sounds like a solid deal to me, unless there are other members here on the forum that disagree with that price, I'd say go for it.
