I know this is a little of topic but I think other members might be interested in this as well.

With the release of DVD, I find myself buying alot of Live Concert releases and I'd like to listen to them in my car. There is no way that I'm going to get a DVD player in my car so I like to transfer the audio onto a CD.

Now I considered a number of ways such as;

1) Connecting my DVD player to my computer (via RCAs) and simply recording the entire performance (in 2CH Stereo of course) and then edit the WAV file and then add the index markers.

2) Use my DVD/CD ROM Drive to "rip" the DVD's audio track only and then edit and add index markers. The only problem is that I don't have any software to do this with.

3) Connect my DVD player to my computer (via the digital out) and do the same as number 1. I have a digital coaxial out on the DVD player and a SPDIF digital input on my soundcard. Can I even connect the two?

I've already used #1 with VHS recordings and although long and a PITA it does work. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly be appreciated...
