overpowering Focals?
Hey all
I've got a set of Focal 165v2's that i'm going to install in my car and they are rated at 75rms @4 and I was planning on biamping them with my kicker 650.4 however just looking at its ratings its rated at 120x4@4
Am I safe to assume that this would be just too much for the Focals to handle? overpowering them by what? 45w rms to mids and tweets each...
thoughts?
I obviously don't want to blow the Focals hence posting to ask before I wire it up.
Thank you (yet again)

You can actually have too much power and that is the root cause of failure of a voice coil in all cases. Provided the speaker can dissipate the excess heat generated by the excess power, all is well. If it cannot, chalk up one blown speaker. Keep the gains turned down and watch the volume, allow the speaker time to cool down.
