Painting Metal
#1
Sup everyone, I was just wondering whats the process for painting metal. I have a grey metal Kicker amp cover and was thinking about repainting it a different color. Looking on whats best in order to make it stand out.

Appreciate the response. Yeah its the KX700.5, When you guys pulled of the badging and mesh did you put it back on after painting or did you leave it off? I was thinking of painting it to match the car. Hopefully if it turns out well I will do something creative with the sub.

I actually didn't do it, but I think he just did a light hand sand with some fairly fine sandpaper, maybe 400 grit? Just a little bit to rough up the surface to make the paint stick a bit easier, you may get away without sanding it at all.

I was thinking the same thing.
I finished sanding the amp grill, i primed it, waited a couple days and I just put the first coat of blue paint. It looks pretty good so I ordered a grill for my sub and Im going to do the same thing
