Well I prefer to stay out of school for a year or two and work out my debt. I could not pass on this, my best friend got me the subs for 4500 and 500 for the 2 used amps. I dont plan on selling the subs for sure, the amps maybe. I was just wondering if the two amps could be set in series so that one amp is amplifying the others signal, my friend told me I would have something like 1800 watt this way but he doesnt remember how to do it. I tried on way but it made all kinds of funny sounds and volume was very low. They dont have an rca output so i welded some wire that could fit in one amps output and with the rca terminal on the other side. is that the way to go? I noticed however that the first amp got really hot, I almost burned myself actually. Please help me out if you know

Ummm.. No. Stop what youre' doing right now, before you blow something up. You've just conencted the output from one amplifier to the input of another.. It's a great way to bloe the input stage of that second amplifier! You will never in a million years get 1800 watts from a pair of 180 watt amps, Unless they're made by pyramid. :D But seriously, you could have gotten more amp for that $500.

wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more amp. could of at least got a hifonicx bx1500d and had 1500 watts to work with instead of the 360.

ok so I think I found somethings interesting, I have found these PB2400B made by pyramid. I think I can sell my 2 phenix golds and get maybe one of them at the price i found them with warranty and all. 2400w rms at 1 ohm so it might work, or should I get some more investment and buy 2? They are about 350 new. maybe then i could put them in series? thx bigmike

^ those amps will do 1200RMS... same basic amps as the lanzar 1200Ds from a couple years ago...

Geeze, I think tinted or someone let go a D3 for $550 not long ago in the for sale section (3000RMS@1ohm)

I'd go kick your buddy in the nutz....

Anyway- back to the topic at hand.... you have 2 2channel amps, and you want to bridge them to a single channel... there is a way to do it, but it's complicated...

As I recall you will need two bridge moduals and must have the ground for one amp completely isolated from the other... if you don't know how to do that already, I wouldn't even consider it....

Bottom line is that this would probably be a huge waste of time. the only reason to do it would be if you wanted to run 1coil with all 4channels, or if you were bent on getting full power @ 8ohms.

Hook the amps up to the subs anyway you can... and look for better amps....

Don't forget to kick your buddy in the balls.... :D

Oh ya... if the pyramid amps are mono block then you can bridge 2 if you have a modual....
But why ?

if you have DVC 4ohm coils, you can run 2subs per amp at 1ohm for full power, or all four subs @ 2ohms with the amps bridged for full power....

There isn't really a reason to bridge them in the 1st. place.....

So, you are a student, who i may say should be in school learning logical stuff right now, but yet you have a welder, and WELD YOUR WIRES TOGETHER? What is this world coming to?
