Is Phantom In GTA Out of Biz?
Just wondering if Phantom Car audio has closed their doors? I have a non functioning alarm they installed recently and they owe me a second remote that I have paid for. The Phone does not seen to get answered.

No they have not closed down, i will call Dan to find out what's going on.
edit: Are you calling 905-279-0904. I called and got no anwer, i will call Dans cell phone when i get home after work. Dans a good guy, he'll give you what you paid for. Not sure why they aren't answering though |
ya, i dunno what happened. I went to go eat noodles and on the way there i was like.... theres no paint smell, whats going on?

Thanks for helping. I found Dan pleasant to deal with and got the sense he would get my probs resolved. Sorry for any Business that shuts down. A Tough economy seems on the horizon.

Dan closed because he was so busy and expanding, last i heard..... *end sarcasm* I seen him not that long ago and he said he was expanding to a bigger shop.
5the Gear is also gone Gunn Auto Sounds (cameron) is also gone. 3 shops gone in the past 4-6 months.

This is weird, cause Riddle_rob and I were there about a month ago(maybe a lil longer) and they were busy as heck! (not even joking)!

I have an amp in there for repair, i was wondering why they havent answered the phone too.
I wouldn't mind a pm also cause id like my amp back,fixed or not man. A phone call might have been nice,hey were closing come get youre amp etc,etc....:dunno: |

I was by dans shop not to long ago. He told me how he was opening up a new shop, 2 floors because he's so busy. To be honest, there was lots of people hanging around with little to no work being done. :dunno: I cant say i felt overly comfortable there either. Ive heard some good things about Phantom, but many bad things. In that area he was in, there seemed to be 3-4 car audio shops, so maybe that played a role. Dan had a large following. Out of the 3 that closed, im most shocked that 5th Gear did. They seemed like they had the budget to bankroll their operation and Tarrence (sp?) every time i spoke to him was "too busy". So you got me. :dunno: Maybe not enough advertising in PAS (*giggles*) So anyhow, i hope you get your amp back :) |

I've been a professional in a business now for 12 years. I'm only 31, but work with my parents in our business.
I actually worked for Van & Truck world in Ottawa for a year too. I was into car audio a lot when I was younger, and still have a small passion for it. through my ventures to many shops I have experienced one thing. Customer Service, Great, good, bad and very very bad. In my line of business (funeral service), customer service and care is #1. In many shops, the feel is, if you don't have the cash, don't waste my time. People have questions, concerns, and quite frequently not a clue. Customer service #1: Many many shops I have visited over the years lacked that very component. Having a "stereo" guy, "engine/turbo" guy ect. will not make you a successful shop. Yes, having the knowledge about your products is key, but there are many things, little things, that make a customer feel, when they make a large purchase, especially car audio, feel good about the purchase. Good, great, and beyond expectations customer service is where a business will succeed. Take this: In Ontario, the Funeral Act states that we must offer our services to whom ever requets them, regardless of race, religion or otherwise, or the ABILITY TO PAY! Imagine that, someone walks into my funeral home, poor, pennyless and their mother just died. I HAVE TO provide my basic services to them. Now, we are not out of pocket. The goverment has a grant, not very much to provide "minimal services". But, mostly all the time, we give the "family" more than what is covered by the payment. But many funeral homes offered this service before the Act came into effect. One note though: You must have customers to have a business, but getting those customers in the key, and keeping them YOUR customers is the major key. anyways, take it with a grain of salt. The worst thing that a customer can feel is used, or taken advantage of, and sorry guys, but the audio industry has done that a lot unfortunalty. sorry for the rant. |

Dan still hasn't called you? I gave him your number a couple months ago. I will call him tonight and ask him to call again. He has it and i should have taken it from him, but i thought you were closer to him in mississauga.He's busy at a new shop but i will tell him to call again, maybe he lost the number, i dunno. Need to speak to dan
Hi:
My name is Karun and I was referred by a friend Nitin. Nitin is Dans buddy and knows him really well. I purchased a Kenwood In dash DVD player/Tv along with the knv dv4100 navagation unit. I need to ground the wire so that my tv and dvd player work. Right now all I am getting on the screen is "Parking off". Is there anyway someone can take care of this for me or even better yet give Dan my number. This will not take long to do and I would really apprecaite it. Thanks |
You have to ground the light green wire.

I am not handy, doint have the tools and dont know how to do these kind of things. If someone can help me with this, or I can even pay someone to help me with this or we can do a barter. I am in IT(computers, web help, networking etc..). So anything that I can help you with. We can maybe do a trade. If not I am willing to pay.
