Pioneer D1 won't open...
 

Help!!!!

I've been having an issue with my Pioneer AVIC-D1. It seems that when it gets hot outside, the screen will not open. I can't access the CD slot.

When the car is cold it acts just fine. Any ideas as to what is happening?

Do you think the fan is not extracting enough hot air?(possible blockage?)

Its installed in a 2003 G35 Sedan.

I tried searching but didn't find anything.

sounds like the screws you have in the iso can to hold the hu in are either loose or too long try getting the hu hot and remove it compleatly from the dash the see if it still binds

Or go into the dealer that you purchased it from for warranty on it.

I purchased the unit from a friend who was parting out with his car. We did the install ourselves.

Funny that he never mentioned any issues like mine and he had the same vehicle.

A defective dvd mechanism could possibly may cause it too but mentioning that when unit is cold,it runs just fine is something we haven't heard before. The least that we can do is to test it on the bench and see if we can duplicate the problem.
