Pioneer i-Pod interface cable?

Perhaps some of you can help shed some light on this for me. I've tried searching and haven't found any answers myself.

Pioneer DEH-P4100UB receiver and Pioneer states on their site that you need a CD-IU50 (CDIU50) cable to interface between the unit and an i-Pod (ipod). I really can't help but think that this is the same cable as what comes with every i-Pod (the dock connector cable). The receiver isn't installed yet, so it can't be checked yet.

Anyone have experience here that can say this Pioneer cable is or isn't required?

I only have experience using an i-Pod through a wired FM modulator so ..... :stroke:

PATIA for any help offered.

Figured i'd update this in case it helps anyone else in the future .....

The cable that an i-Pod comes with is all that is needed. I hooked it up tonight and it all works fine. No need for any other cable (at least not between my Nano and 4100). I can control the i-Pod through the Multi Control just fine.

Well, i've been a longtime Pioneer fan. I took a break from car stuff for a while, so this is actually my first Pioneer unit that, uhhmmmm, only has one knob on the front. :ohwell:

So since i'm still getting used to this Multi Control stuff operating an i-Pod through it doesn't seem so bad. Only done it a couple of times so far though, so maybe in a couple of weeks, once i'm used to the remote again, i'll update.

Wait times? I have a 16gb Nano that has about 7.4 gb on it. No waiting for nothing so far. (other than the operator lol)

Well not really waiting times in regards to playing music...but what about when you want to search through your libraries? (ie. searching artists or albums etc.)
