Which Pioneer product you think is the best?
I want to buy a multimedia system with NAVI, I'm indifferent about Avic Z1, Z2, N2, N3, S1. Do you guys know other brands better than Pioneer? Price is not a big concern. please recommend!

Those types of units are always overpriced. Did you ever think to build yourself a carputer. You'll have a lot more functionality, and the possibilities are endless. All you need is a little computer know how.

Basically you build a computer to run in your car. Here's a sloppy example of one, but it is fully functional. All the info you could ever want is at mp3car.com
Total cost was just over a grand. Attachment 24564 |

We were stocked up in that picture. Threw the carputer on 2 nights before so it was still all buggy. Worked all day, and left right after work for a all nighter to get to PEI a good 13 - 14 hours away.

I have worked out the problems and it has been running flawlessly since about December. On the very cold days (-20) the hard drive is frozen, but it takes under a minute for it to get warm enough to get the hard drive working again. Just have to hit the power button.
Only thing I don't like is it takes about 30 second to get booted up and running, but I just listen to cd's for short trips around town. I think the store bought ones take a bit of time to get going also. |
