Please help

I own a 2000 Lexus ES300 [Platinum Series] (Not sure if this makes a difference) and recently [about 6 months ago] had a Kenwood DDX372BT installed and chose to keep the stock speakers, amp, and sub at least for the time being.

A couple weeks ago i noticed my sound would cut out (mostly all bass) and would only come back if i turned off the stereo and turned it back on, or cranked up the volume all the way to kick start the amp. Obviously this aftermarket stereo was too powerful for my stock amp/sub. I was told it is best to buy and install new speakers, amp, and sub all together. Keep in mind this is a very small sedan and I am not looking to replace the 8'' sub with anything bigger than 8''

Since I already have a Kenwood stereo installed, I want to get Kenwood speakers along with a Kenwood amp as well. Not too sure how good Kendwood subs sound so I am open to choosing a brand like kicker or alpine for the sub. (8")

My main concern is exactly what speakers, amp, and sub i should get. I have no idea how many watts are necassary for everything and dont really want to spend over 500 for everything + installation.

Please help me out. any suggestions from someone with car stereo knowledge will be a huge help.

With that size budget u will have to compromise a bit. If u want to stick with Kenwood I would suggest getting new speakers for the front stage, a new 8" sub with enclosure and a 4 channel excelon amp. Run the new front speakers and the sub off the amp and the rear factory speakers off the deck power.

Find a reputable Kenwood dealer in your area and they can suggest specific model numbers that will fit your car and budget.

This way u will get the most bang for ur buck for now and have equipment that u can continue to use when u decide to upgrade again when u decide that's not quite enough...lol
