That thread in the General section by PASMAG was weird. What's with people lately???? Too many wound up a little to much.
And another thing, can someone clarify for me that Tim Baille and HZ is a forum sponsor......... I'm looking for the ad but not seeing it and nobody is answering the question. Just wondering if the rules on this forum have changed or something............. or maybe I just missed the whole sponsoring thing he's done.

Vendors who choose not to contribute financially to the site in the form of banner space are strictly prohibited from using Canadian Car Audio to conduct their business ventures in any capacity. Promotion includes, but is not limited to, including links to company web sites, posting email addresses or contact information (including phone and company address), posting blatant advertising or marketing messages or soliciting customers through messages of group purchases, pricing specials, etc. Conducting business activity may include posting order or product status updates or responding to inquiries about products that are not directly made to them. If you are vendor and someone asks about an order status, respond offline, not on the message board.

Dave, I have no idea who started giving you crap for your AVI posts. But you know what, if someone posts asking about stuff you have experience with, reply. I will go to bat for you. The same should apply to anyone. As long as you are not soliciting I don't see a problem. And hell yeah post pics of your shop, toolbox, but I thknk we have all seen a jigsaw before

I think it is a good idea to let the people know who we are. A pic that shows people what we are truly capable of if they are interested in us in general. Am I going to lose business to Dave, Tim or others, probably not (the island is a captive audience).
We already have a who's who for us here in the void and most of us know each other in a roundabout way anyways. Why not have a topic where the general public can see our businesses as well. We of course should not be advertising sales etc., as we still do need to abide by the rules of the site as well.
Pehaps the people who do take advantage of this can pay a nominal fee for it as well, I certainly would have no problem doing this and I would think that others would not as well. If anything, it makes me want to go out and equip myself with a welder, brake etc. to further my abilities here as well.
Let's have some more thoughts on this.

How does this sound. What if we had another forum that allowed retailers to do a quick post that would not be allowed replies. Each retailer would be allowed one post. In that post they would be allowed a nominal amount of words to describe their services in general, and be able to post 8 pics of the shop and some examples of work.
There would be no additional stuff allowed such as links or results of contests, or maps to the store etc. The 'ads' would have to be formatted all the same, such as services description then pics or whatever.
We don't want to step on 'real' advertisers toes and dilute the value in advertising, so there could possibly be a fee for the service, what would it be worth to you?
What do you guys think?
