POWER ACOUSTIK 5 FARAD DIGITAL looking at buying one it's on ebay for 78 us dollars do you think thats a good deal.......i don't really know much about power acoustik

Caps don't do anything. Save your money and buy something else.

caps do help with street bumping in some cases but for spl I am going to disconnect mine and hook straight to the amp.
I added a 1 farad PG cap to my system and it helped out quite a bit.
Different strokes for different folk eh?

I wouldn't buy a 5 farad cap though.

That is interesting. How did the cap help? What did it do? How did you measure the improvement?
I am eager to learn about the use of caps because so far every technical article about capacitors that I have read seems to conclude that they do not do anything to improve the performance of subwoofer systems.

well lets see 1st thing i did was the big three
2nd was to add the cap

after adding the cap I noticed that my headlights and dash lights dont dimm like they used to with the bass and I did notice a big difference in the sound from the subs...not to sure how much difference it made as I have never put this set up on a mic yet but when I do I am going to test with and without the cap.

It was teamshadow that sold me the cap ...and they do know what they are doing....I am sure that they would not have sold it to me if it would not have been any good for my system.
