Ok, I bought a cheap DVD player at FS over the holidays. I want to put it in my car, for one to play mp3's, and 2 to eventually play dvds (to which I would be eventually adding a screen).
I tried to find some info here but couldn't find much. Which of these units induce noise, or I've heard, with video game systems cause static on the screen? I would hate to buy one and find out it's useless for what I need it for. Are there any specific brands which are better than others? I know XS Cargo has some Coleman ones for cheap, but I was thinking that they mustn't be that great if they're so cheap. Any help? [ February 04, 2004, 05:22 PM: Message edited by: JohnnyToronto ] |
i think it all depends on the combination of the gear u are using. when i had an lcd in my jeep i tried to hook up a psone to it and it was statiky as hell and there was no traction. when i put ps2 there everything was fine.
then i got the pioneer tv deck and now both psone and ps2 work fine. it's the ground problem between the peices of the equipment that causes this. [ February 04, 2004, 05:39 PM: Message edited by: Tinted ] |
One of the install managers at an FS in B.C. did some testing and found that some inverters were better than others, I can't find where I put that info. IIRC it was a midpriced one that was best out of three or four he tested. I would buy a good quality one and make sure there is a good return policy behind it in case it introduced noise.

Yeah but which ones are good, and how do I know what to look for?

i use a jensen 600w peak inverter from future shop 89.99 hooked up to a ps2 works awesome. 30 day return policy.

Thanks anyone else?
Anything comparative that I can look for? If not I'll just go with something cheaper, like a motomaster or coleman. |
