power turns of when opening face to take out CD!!!!
 

Hey,
I have a 2003 tiburon in which the stereo is a clarion cd. Worked fine when I bought the car then it started playing when it wanted to and not all the time. Now however everytime I open the face plate it disconnects the power to the stereo. Can not eject cd and can only listen to radio.
Is there any main reasons for this? A guy a future shop said he has never heard of this and it will cost a set amount just for them to look at it.
Please let me know if it would be a good investment to get this looked at or if it should be replaced.

Wel to my knowledge when you open the face on certain units it switches to tuner and beings to play the radio are will just keep playing the song on the cd.

so when you press eject it does nothing??

also to the question about it turning of and on by itself,have you ever taken it out are played with connects,because it sounds like a loose conection somewhere.

the ribbon cable that attatches the face to the deck is broken. They aren't really possible to fix you just need to replace it. if you send it in to clarion canada they can fix it for you. The replacement part will probobly cost you like $20-30 plus the labour to put it in. The same thing happened to my clarion deck. I haven't gotten it fixed yet as I just played with the cable a bit until the glue came loose that holds it to the deck and then after doing that it took a bit of the pressure off of it so it works again...kinda...i can open the door like half way and eject the CD but I can't open it all the way or it shuts off lol. Luckily I don't listen to CDs in my car so the dbdrag cd just stays in there all the time and other than that i just use my ipod with itrip
