Punch 120a2

I recently aquired a punch 120a2 amp. From what I can tell, it's an older amp. I can't see any of the fuses on the out side which is kind of strange. I was just curious to if anyone has come across one and if they are a solid amp. I plan on just powering my fronts with it, but I was curious if I could also hook the back's up to it as well (not important, but always nice to take the speakers off the internal amp of the deck)? It's only a 2 channel amp, but I think they call it "bridging". On the back it's telling me it does 30wrms x 2 at 4 ohms, and 60wrms x 2 at 2 ohms. Thanks in advance!

It is a 2 channel amp, 30w rms x 2 or bridges to 1 channel at 120w rms x 1. It is a solid little amp that is quite at home running front speakers. You can indeed hook the rear speakers to the amp as well, it is called parallel or series wiring (not bridging). You will not have any control over the fader should you do this. Keep it on the front speakers is what I would do.

As with all Rockford amps of these years did not have a built in fuse. When we installed these amplifiers, we installed them with a fuse near the amp and another near the battery. A 30amp fuse is going to do the job for this amp.

Thats awesome, thanks a lot. Ya I'll just let the back speakers continue to run off the deck, as I don't really care to much for quality since I won't be sitting in the back. I'll just power the fronts like you suggested, it makes sence. Since I have a KAC9152D currently in the vehicles setup, I'm just going to add this to it as well. I'll take it to a local car shop and get them to install it. I don't want to **** up on installing the distribution block. I'll also need to get the big 3 done as well.

My next question if I may ask. I have a 1999 Tiburon, and I do plan on adding new components to it. It already came with from what I can tell, two tweaters in the dash, and a 6.5 coxial in each door. I want nothing more then the best absolute quality. I don't want to spend a rediculous amount either, as I know the price to better quality starts to deminish after a certain point. Is there something you could suggest? And is there a product you may have for purhcase?
