Quality of Digital Designs amps?

Well, like the title suggests i am asking this community about the quality of Digital Designs amps...
Up until now i had always gone with audison amps, no questions asked hands down, but i just found out from my center that the audison LRx 2.9 they were working on isnt covered under warrenty and it cants be fixed for some reason, so i need a new amp and a good friend of mine has a DD S2 that he would sell to me for cheap cuz he bought a different one.
So... should i make a switch or stick with audison?

Audison.

Good friend would let you try it so you can find out for yourself. My bet is that you will not mind it at all.

DD are great amps and the S2 is hard to get one.
I have an M2 and an S4 and I'm happy with them

What exactly is wrong with your Audison amp?

they are both good amps, it is the person that decides which to use. Make your friend let ya try it out. I personally think DD makes great amps, and at the same time audison makes great amps aswell!

I may be biased, but there is a huge difference in specifications between the two. The DD has a damping factor of 1000! I've never seen that before. 100db signal to noise, 3000 watts peak output from a 390 watt x 2 amp...talk about headroom! If you have space in your car for it, try it out, blow your mind.
Mike picked up the first one of those to hit Canadian soil (according to DD). It's very impressive.

^Not that damping is a spec even worth a second look. But it sure is a big number ;)

Why would damping factor not be an important issue for a front stage amp?

Damping factor is an important spec, but above 200 or so it makes little difference.

Can you explain it in mathematical terms to me?
