NE one had a chance to play with the new quart subs? I figure they should be pretty good considering RF owns them now.
What is with the surround to appears to go in? Really nice looking sub. |
You mean they're worse now that RF owns them?
|
^ WTF are you talking about?

Can always count on CCA for great insight.
Quart as far as I know did not build there own subs befor RF owned them and never seemed to push them, as soon as RF got there hans on quart a new line of subs was produced I assume RF is making them for them and considering RF's history they should be a solid sub. I would say the fact that you see a 15" model this time around and they have higher power ratings is deffinetly RF's influence. Still want to know what the deal is with the surround |
The surround idea is nothing new, Panasonic has used that technology for years now. It is designed a little different to allow a little more flex in the surround and control of the cone from what I have heard, maybe provides a little more clearance for grills as well. Dukk will like these subs, they slam in a ported enclosure (especially when you use an Eclipse cd player...haha)

^Once a salesman, always a salesman.
|
i heard a lot of horror stories about more recent rf stuff having tons of problems... ie cone separation etc...
|
Have not had one failure yet on a MB Quart sub, the stuff works real good, the build quality is also good to great.
|
The MB Quart PWD-254 is one of the best sounding woofers I have reviewed. Tight, fast and went VERY low. The review of the new Reference Series in CA&E was less than thrilling.. Too bad.
As for most stories of product failure... Funny how it's the most popular products that are most commonly abused by their owners.. |
