Question
im thinking right now of doing a 8" sub both from doors. even if i seal up the doors,, its 3cubes big. and the 8" needs .5cubes sealed. would it still sound good?? or i should go another route?
opignions, ideas any thing that might work lol. i have good mids right now but mid bass is lacking a bit. and with no sub at the moment it basicly sux. the mid bass will play between 40hz to around 200 i guess?? or is there a better #? also the amp im looking into right now only has HP AP and LP. im trying to get bandpass lol is there something i could use? thanks Dan |
i wont be checking after 2:30 pm till 10 tonight so any Q's will have to wait lol.
im looking at the punch 400/4 amp and the MTX 5508 sub since i can get it cheap i will be sound deadning the whole door. 2 layers of dynamat extreme in the outer skin and 1 layer on the other skin, and some 1/4 MDF to make a baffle behind the door panel. thats my plan so far |
I'd be hard to find a amp that will do this properly. you basically need a stereo ap that has a subsonic filter that can be set as high as 50hz. and a low pass that can be set as high 200hz...since they will be covering midbass frequencies you can't really use a head units sub out as most are mono (even with seperate left and right conenctors)

well the second amp i was looking at (need 2) the 325/1 punch. LP AP HP and goes up to 400hz. and im not using my sub out since they will be only for my subs ( once i get some lol )
lets say everything is right will it sound good? it need .5cubes and i have 3cubes. lol if its fine the rest should be a breeze to do |
Kicker SX amps can do bandpass easily.
|
im trying to keep it real cheap sooooo right now all i got is was FS gets. and so far the RF stuff is better than the rest of that stuff lol and we dont get kicker up here from locals
|
oups we do get kicker. but another thing too is that is has to have a very small footprint
so far the RF 200/2 and 325/1 i get for around 125$ each. |
f you are going to do soemthing like that you should look at an amp that is designed to do something like that!
|
ill figure something out with the amp all i need to know is... is the 8" sub going to sound right in a 3 cubes sealed door????? when the sub requires .5cubes????????
