I was just woundering how well a "battery isolater" works?? and how it works... and does it make a hudge noticable difference?? and is it worth gettin one?

any help would be great thanks

well, all it does is isolate batteries...unless you have 2 batteries, its %100 useless. Its basically a big relay. Generally, your better off to buy 2 brand new batteries, and avoid using one.

Most battery Isolators are effectively giand diodes. The current is fed from the alternator through the isolator and to each of the batteries. Current can not flow between the batteries however (this is the isolation part). You connect the stereo to one battery and run the car off the other.

The drawback is that there is about a 0.7V drop across the isolator, so your alternator isn't as effective.
