Arrow Question about the 'Big 3'

Hey guys, just a couple questions about the big three

1) What wire gauge should be used
2) My install won't be for another 2 more weeks, is it ok to perform the big 3 prior to hooking up my system?

Thanks guys!

1) Will depend on how much power your going to be using/how much you want to spend. 4 - 0/x AWG will work

2) Yes.

the sub won't be more than 500W rms... So 4 gauge should be enough I guess!

Thanks for the help!

1.) I would just use 1/0 AWG, even though your only running 500 Watts, you never know what you're going to run in the future, so it's better to be safe than sorry

2) Yes

The 4ga will be fine......larger can't hurt but it can be pricey.....

I've completed 2 of the 3 with 1/0 wire. I'll complete the 3rd when I replace the alt. I am also running a 500w amp on the sub. Like previous posts, run a bigger awg than you think you currently need. That way in the future you're covered.

I'm replacing the alt because the car has 360k on it and everything is original.
