Question Regarding Amps

Hey, Ive been trying to read up on as MUCH as I can regarding AMP's, Ive seen varying amps, like 4's, 2's. mono, so on.

I was wondering if there was a specific amp that I would be able to hook up a sub, and my speakers to without doing some damage, again I don't know if it will cause damage, or if it will not work. I would think it would depend on what speakers I would be using, and sub woofer. Still I would like to know the basic information regarding these. on Adverts it states good for Speakers OR subs, not speakers and subs, so I wanted to know the basics before going ahead with this.

I'm not particularily looking for a HUGE HUGE sound system, I would only be looking for like 2 10'' subs or maybe even just a single at like 1200 watts max? speakers would be like say 4 sony Xplode or something along that line, I dont want speakers costing me 300+, I just want alot of value for my money. Would I even need an AMP for this material? I would be buying a good deck, like something newer thats in the 150 range, something from Kenwood or sony.

nothing in the 150 range is really that good, but yeah if you dont want to spend alot those are 2 decent brands to go for. pioneer makes some very decent, and in expensive speakers. alot of company's also make a 5 channel amp which will run a sub or subs and all your midranges/tweeters.

for example

money

I have like 700$ to drop on this system, I was just trying to colaborate to get the best SQ for meh money. Be it an all inclusive system. I am extremely good with my hands so I can build whatever I need for my Sub. Any suggestions?

price dont matter really as you could spend less on a deck more on subs and less on speakers or more on an amp and less on speakers and subs and a wiring kit... so on and so forth. you used any of those brands before? almost everything is good, but with some brands you will find the higs are clearer, or the bass from the sub hits harder, or the mids are clearer and so on. someone with some experience with all these brands will chime in later and tell you what they found to be the best, as i have only had a chance to play around with a few brands.
clif designs, sony, ultimate, jbl, pioneer, pheonix gold.
so as you can see there are way more choices out there.

So, what vehicle is this system going into?

Yeh its going into a Pontiac Fire Bird, I just finished the body off, it all looks nice. So I wanted to take it to the next step. I did everything myself down to the engine repairs.
