Cool! 90's Firebird or Camaro?

Loud Brown Kicker Colt 05-03-2004 11:25 PM

those camaros were built to have a sub encosure dumped into that "hole" ;)
nice, clean install

Believe it or not the car is an '83. We put a JVC KDLH3150 in the dash, it runs Infinity Reference 4X6 and 6X9's in the factory locations (had to do some trimming of the rear instrument cluster to get the drivers side speaker to fit). Also wisely had an alarm put in (he is a 16 year old and this is his first car) since he is in high school to keep others away. The sub box is fiberglass, I could have done it out of MDF but wanted as much volume as I could get for the 2 twelves.

Looks good. What did you charge?

My last project was a 91 Trans Am GTA and those F-body's can sound really nice.
I don't believe those wheel wells were meant for anything besides audio equipment either.

nice work, how do those subwoofer sound, ive yet to hear a pair

I love the Infinity woofers. Wasn't a big fan of the Kappa Perfects, but I have always liked the price vs. performance of the Reference line. The only problem is the mounting depth is like 6 inches for them which is about 1/2 an inch bigger than the average in this class of woofers so I have had to modify alot of prebuilt truck boxes (not necessarily premanufactured, but customers who replace their old woofers with them) to make them fit. Anyways they are way better built than the average woofer that I have seen in this class, they outperform the Rockford P2, MTX T6000 in my opinion.

Looks good. Hows that new sony amp? I havn't installed one yet. And you're right, that is what that well is for, speakers and T-Roofs.

It's pretty much the same as last years red ones as far as I can tell, we do a ton of them here. I would have liked to do a little more power, but that was out of the budget. I really like those little Sony mono amps though, very good power for the dollar.

Nice work!

We did a very similar setup in a Trans Am last summer with all Fosgate equipment (HE2, 501BD, 300X, Stinger cap). Turned out great and the customer loved it. He didn't stick around for pics, unfortunately...

I think it's great we carry the Infinity Reference subs again. They really fill the gap in our sub lineup IMO, as I'm not really impressed with Fosgates new stuff. MTX has got some real nice equipment coming, though...

We see tons of P5 amps go out as well. New ones have a subsonic filter which I don't think was a feature on last year's model. Stout little amps for the price, although our demo goes into protection every now and then. I still can't believe that monster 2-channel we carry now, planogrammed to the BASIC wall to power coaxials, lol...

Dereck Waller 05-04-2004 09:55 PM

planogram, bah!
