My plan for this year is to upgrade me factory speakers in my maxima with some 6.5" components in the front and some 6.5" 2 ways in the back, now my question is this i was looking at some infinity refernce components and they are 100 rms at 4 ohm and my deck is a pioneer deh 5100 and its rated at 50x4 so my question is, is it worth going out and buying an amp that is 50x4 and running all that wireing or would I get the same performance from the speakers if they are just running off the deck?

 

the deck is actually about 25x4

so an amp that is 50x4 would give twice as much power. this is given you are looking at the specs correctly.

the 50x4 on the deck is max rating, you have to look for RMS. same with the amp.

 

Actual deck power when rated at 50wx4 is about 18-22w rms.... buy the amp.
