My only advice then, in that case is to make sure there are no weak links in your electrical system, because a 2000 watt amplifer will bring them out in a hurry. Use a minimum of good quality 2 gauge power wire, make sure your ground is perfect, upgrade the OEM chassis ground on your battery, possibly your alternator and many other things. At 2000 watts, an amplifier will be drawing serious current...enough to cause damage to more than itself if the install is not A++
I've done the big 3, i've re-done the ground from my deck, all my deck wiring is fine, for my ground i've got it from amp to cap to chassis nicely placed. my amps power/ground is 0 guage pkd1 package, everything so far is good to go.

i just didnt want the amp to go into protect or anything cuz aint that a biatch =(

as long as it's a 1 ohm final load, you won't have any problems. I've been running a Hifonics bx-1205 at 1 ohm for 3 years now, and It barely gets warm after a couple of hours in the summer time. note...I don't have it running at full blast, but loud enough to feel the bass and shake my mirrors. It's been a great amp so far.

Is it REALLY that bad? It didn't seem like there was a lack of power, and it still pounded like crazy.

I dont have it like that all the time, just maybe 1 time a week when I go out with my buddy. He has a 12 and I have 2 - 10's. It sounds crazy having that combination. Is it alright to do it like that once and a while?

Myself and others agree you shouldn't...but ultimately it's your choice.
