Quick question about the Pioneer Avic-N3

Hey guys,

I sold my avic N1, and got the avic N3.
I learned that you can just ground the wire to watch movies while you drive, i was wondering if any one knew how to make it work?

I'm mature enough to know when and when NOT to watch a movie while driving, but i would like to know for my self

Thanx in advance

No you cannot by-pass the n3 by grounding it, as soon as the car moves the navigation will turn it off.

so what do i do?

how can i fix the problem?

You can't, the N3 has a internal gyro system that detects vehicle movement. Once the movement hits a predetermined threshold, no more pic on the screen for the dvd.

are you kidding me???
I know there is a switch that you can "click" and then it will work
but i heard it voids the warranty

I might just get another GPS, if this one is going to be so hard.

I have heard of a circuit modification for this as well, this of course will void any warranty. As a dealer I cannot recommend to anyone to do this.

Hotwire N3

If you look at the bottom of your n3 you will see a very small sticker. If you remove this sticker you will see two solder nipples, very small, the opening is only a cm by cm, very carefully connect the two solder nipples together, with your soldering gun, it is tricky but very doable. Good luck

theres a switch across those little solder pionts on the n3. peel off the siver tape, and hit the switch. watch the cool siver tape leave a"warrenty void" mark on your deck.

OBVIOUSLY THAT sticker is there for a reason, had he asked if it voided the warranty i would have replied, but he was asking how to bypass it, so i told him. I personaly have never done it for a customer, but i have done it.

wow! didnt mean to get ya worked up.
I was only telling you bout the switch thats there this year (this year) instead of soldering.
Ya gotta admit that tape they use is cool
