Ram Sub Box

Hey Dodgeram, how many feet of power wire did you use to run from your battery to amps under your back seat?I picked up a Scosche wiring kit from Wal mart for $40.It is for 2 amps.It comes with 14' of 4ga.,6' of 8ga.,4' 8ga. ground cable,4-8 distribution block, fuse holder with fuse,17' remote wire,2 17' RCA cables. Is this enough? The only thing i'm concerned with is the 4ga. power cable might be a bit short. It came in in one of those clear plastic packages with the edges melted together so if you open you can't return it(I hate those). What do you think,am I good to go or do I need more?

What is the best way to run the speaker wire out of the box.I read some people use bolts but now I can't find the post.I don't want to just run the wire through a hole.So it's either use a nut & bolt or a terminal. Is the only reason to use a nut & bolt to save money?

^ Well, terminal cups generally leak a bit - especially spring type - and limit the wire size you can use properly too. Plus they're $5 a pop
If you want something better looking than a couple of machine bolts sticking out of your box, find a set of loose 5way binging posts and mount them to your box. No cheaper than the t-cups but maybe a better option.
Here's a nice long set:

man you spent alot of time making the posts, nice work, when i build boxes for those trucks, i fibreglass the floor, and use wood for the baffle and sides and put 2 12" subwoofers in, the only thing you have to be careful of speaker depth, but lots of 12's fit, and for sealing wires on boxes i use black hot glue, never leaks and dries fast, not the most convienient for removal though.
