I have been doing some research lately and more and more I have seen amp manufactures use the term Dynamic Power. Now I understand the basic definition however when used as a power rating is it been used as another word for PEAK Power or RMS. Dynamic meaning the constant change or progress of energy or an activity. So having said all this, is this a way for amp manufacture to market equipment without using PEAK or MAX power rating because those terms have been beaten to death and the consumers have become informed to what they are purchasing. Or is it another term being used for RMS or continuous power and continuous meaning uninterrupted in time, sequence, substance, or extent. Is that not the same roughly as constant change or progress?? Maybe I am missing something but just wanted some input on this topic. Or am I reading into this to much :)

Cheers guys

well, there are generally three types of rating:
RMS
Max/Peak
Dynamic/Music

the idea is that due to the dynamic and transient nature of music, it can handle more power than RMS because it is seeing this power for a smaller period of time. it is kind of the happy medium between RMS and Peak.
