RCA Cables

I'v got an RCA cable but its too long. Can I just cut it in half and then reconnect it to make it shorter? When I was looking at the 2 wires (red and white) I realized that INSIDE each wire there are 2 separate wires running through it? Does this mean I have to individually reconnect the smaller wires inside each wire(red and white)? Or does it not matter and I can just attach red wire w/ red wire and white w/ white?

it would work but if you want to start causing possible noise problems or just not gonna work well... well thats your choice. just replace with something shorter or hide the extra somewhere

^^^x2 I agree with danyman, don't cut it if you don't have to. It is cheaper to buy a short one now than to cut the one you have and then have to buy a long one later.
