This is what i narrowed it down to...help me decide. I'm either going to purchase:
2 12 RE subs 2 12w3 JL 2 12 Earthquake DBX and i may decide to put 4 instead of 2...they will be running off a Rockford 1000db amp. Tell me what you think is the best sound per pound for my 2003 explorer xlt [ August 14, 2003, 06:48 AM: Message edited by: ixhuntaxi ] |
I think with that kind of power the RE's would be the best bet.. unless you go for 4 then i'd do the jl's

how do u think the earthquakes perform against jl or re?
|
i think the jl's or re's would blow away the eq in the right box..

I disagree with chris, I think the earthquakes will do you good if your looking for spl. I've been running 3 12" earthquake tremors in a slot ported box and it pounds, now the DBX's are double the power of the tremors. I personally think the EQ's would make awsome use of that amp, but then again all my equipment is earthquake and I havent really used RE or JL.
I got a buddy who's all about JL and if you asked him, he'd tell you JL. I guess its what you like, go take a listen to all of them! |
i'd go with the earthquake, i've had the dbx's they kick hard

everyone will always have thier own opinion.. but as long as you use the right box you should be happy!

get 2 12" RE SEs...they are the shiz from what I have heard. I like W3s as well but they aren't really comparable to the SE. I don't know what the dbx is so I can't say anything about that
|
I can't comment on the dbx's either but I know the RE SE's get really loud and could take a bd1000 each for spl comps. The W3's are good also but will not take as much power as the RE and therefor have less potential in competition. Choose either if you're gonna stick with one bd1000 and you'll be happy.
My choice would be the SE though. |
