can some one tell me how to find the RMS of an amp using a calculation. like the volts x amps x ... or what ever it is?
|
Voltage x Amps of recommended fuse on amp x efficiency of amp = RMS Watts
Voltage when vehicle is running is usually 14.4 V. Efficiency of Class AB amps is around 60-70 % Class D amps a different depending on age of specific design etc from around 70% for the older ones to over 90% for some of the newest designs |
the calculations haunt me....
Vrms = Vact/ sqrt(3) in the ideal case...but when do we ever see that? or you can use the sony method...take the max watts amp rating, and move the decimal two places to the left to get the RMS value. ie: sony 1000.0W max amp --> sony 10.000W RMS amp. hehehe [ May 05, 2005, 03:13 AM: Message edited by: Coffeyman ] |
