11.5mm xmax from a 6.5" woofer... 60W RMS of power handling.

If you could put 4 of these in your rear deck and glass up the bottom of the deck (for rigidity) and port them I bet you could get some good output out of these things. You'd only need 0.5CF per sub ported.

Since it's firing up off the deck and into the cabin then you get the effect of bouncing the wave off the hatch / glass like in an SUV or hatchback...

Any guys with experience with rear deck installs?

Only thing I am worried about is the rigidity of the deck... that's why I'm thinking of glassing the bottom the deck over and construcing a 2CF shell to house the subs underneath. Or maybe cut out a piece of MDF and mount it like that...

I'd have to bolt it down and damp it too probably to preven it from rattling.

I like you're line of thinking...but it's a lot of work.

If you are serious about this, think about re-enforcing the rear deck. I'm experiencing some flexing in my rear deck from this type of install.

11.5mm one way from a 6.5" with a shallow basket like that .............. I'd have to see it to believe it .........most likely 11.5 total (5.75 each way)

other than that , good idea
