I have some subs coming in that I think would work great, 300Wrms, 2"VC, SVC 8OHM, Poly cone rubber surround built in the US. If you can wait a little I think these would be a great solution for you. Two of them in parallel will give you your 4ohm mono load. They will be available under our own name most likely.

It is one thing to give a suggestion, it is another thing to give a blanket suggestion without even looking at the persons needs and limitations.

IE: He has a reg cab pickup. Will a proper box even fit behind those seats for the blanket suggestion RE subs or will the cones hit the seat and result in blown subs due to the voice coil being rubbed right through?

Better idea, ask the person to put the seat into it's proper position for him to comfortably drive it, make a cardboard cutout to fit behind the seat and then extrapolate a box volume, choose subs that both fit the box volume and that will not hit the seat. Seems to me to be a much smarter way of suggesting something rather that using the blanket statement of "I would still use the RE's though".

No hate on the RE subs or to the person who posed the question, after so long doing this my way of doing some things is usually far different than most others here on the site.

Actually dude, I am a RE dealer and will recommend it for it's proper applications. If it works for you, that is great.

You posted the pics and someone picked up some things that they would change. They made a smart a$$ comment on it and you took offence to it. At the same time though, you are the one that came out charging with the profanity and the slamming of this site. Ya might just want to sit back and think about that one there. Want this forum to be different than the others you speak about, read that last post of yours and see how it differs from the other ones on this forum. If you ask me, that post of your is a prime example of the trash we do not have on this forum but is readily found on others.

Welcome to the forum, if you have constructive things to add, that is great. I like this forum and hope you do as well, please keep it clean.

Im sorry if I offended you... But when you give advice on things when it doesnt really look like you know what your talking about " like sounds good" that offends me because there is no way that subs in a huge *** ported box "sounds good" it may sound good to you and thats great... but keep in mind that there actually are some "audiofiles" surfing around here that do know what a true SQ is about. As a matter of fact there is a few people on here that are very spl driven... and thats very cool, but just bear in mind that there is a big difference between a guy that wants to rattle his eardrums at 150DB and a guy thats trying to create "the perfect stage" I am sorry for centering you out but, After seeing your response I dont feel so bad. Just for the record I am on the Mustang forums not the Civic forums.

anyhow back to the task at hand... It kind of sucks putting together a system in a regular cab truck but fear not. What I would do for you application is audition some of the newer flatline subs I know Blaplunkt makes one, also kaption audio makes a pretty good sounding flat 10, and I know that JL audio just released a new flatline series it wont be availible for a while prob summer/ fall but they even have a 13.5. I have put regular subs in reg cab trucks but I find if you are a big guy it makes the truck to squishy. So I would find the flat sub that you like the best get 2 ofthem build some nice kick panels with 6 1/2's or some 8 inch mids, and you will be off to the races. If you could give a budget that would help us out.
