Remote Amp Turn-on wire...

:dunno: I am hooking the RCA's and amp turn on wire into my deck... WHERE TF DO I HOOK IN THE AMP TURN ON WIRE?!?!

The deck is a Kenwood KAC-2011S (1999), and the car is an '85 Cavalier.

Is it the navy blue wire with the white stripe? It's labelled Ant Cont and the other side says uh, I forget, something Cont. It's not a full wire, maybe 4-5 inches and it's cut off and tucked back. It is coming from the plug-in connector on the back of the head-unit.

The one with the white stripe would be your power antenna wire.. the solid short blue one (probably says P. Cont) is your remote wire.

I think maybe that's what it said on the other side of the label... P. Cont. and Ant. Cont. It was a short wire...

So I'll look for a short blue one also, and report back...

Thanks,
Troy

Nope, just the one wire there... That is the only blue wire...

It says Ant. Cont. and P. Cont. on the other side of the label.

Must be the right one. :sly:

Interesting... on my kenwood im fairly certain there were two blue wires, one solid blue (my remote) and one with the white stripe (power antenna)... perhaps theyre interchangeable in your case. I'm not all too certain on that business though, somebody else is bound to chime in.

T-Roy31 09-09-2006 05:42 PM

Well hopefully someone else chimes in quick ahhaha. :cheeky4:

But yeah, only the one wire there. Navyish blue, with a white stripe. Label clearly states both; P CONT and the other side; ANT CONT. So it must be interchangable.

Note that some decks cut power on the power antenna wire went playing cd or aux. So make sure that the wire is clearly marked amp control, or test it.

T-Roy31 09-09-2006 08:39 PM

It has to be the one... I'm fairly sure it is. :sly:

There are no other wires that would work. :dunno:

TTT for someone who has experienced this.

TTT There has to be someone who knows??? :dunno: :eyes:

Regardless, that is how I hooked it up. I am fairly certain that it is the right wire, just need some more back-up. :ohwell:
