Restoring Amplifier?

Is there a way to "restore" an amp to close to its original condition?

or should you tape up the graphics and touch them up?

specifically the sides of an old Phoenix Gold MPS amp is what I had in mind.

well.....you could sand everything down.......take a high quality pic of it before hand.....have a designer/sign shop recreate the stickers that were on it before.

As for a special paint that has to be used....I don't know....will the amp be getting hot enough to where a high temp paint will have to be used?

of course this might not bring it back to it's exact original shape....but pretty close.

also vinyl will be replacing the screen printed lettering/logo so it will be raised slightly.

is it this one by any chance?

Its a MPS2500 and most of the graphics are intact, just the rest of it is in rough shape, dont want to go to sticker route. screening might be tough....

if done correctly it will be pricey, but it can be good and inexpensive, if done poorly it can look like ***.
Take your time and mask off graphics you want to keep, give it a good cleaning with water, a fine grit sanding, and thin coats

Are all the markings not only on the end plates? If so, tape them off or just remove them and refinish the amp.

as for paint, I dont think this is a high temperature application. It might get hot to the touch but it is not a BBQ! a good spray can enamel should be fine
