RF 6001bd

I dont know if im putting this in the right fourm but here it goes neways.

Ive been having issues with my amp. As the title says i have a rockford fosgate p6001bd. IT is pushing an Elemental Design 16oV2(dual 2ohm) in a ported box. Im running 4guage power and ground. I have a optima yellow (dual) running my car and the system. Now the problem is when i turn the volume up about 1/2-3/4 of the way the rockford cuts out and the protect light comes on the amp..I cant figure out why. Ive check my wiring and it seems fine....the ground is very solid and im very sure its getting enough juice.

Can anyone help me out

Thanks

Dion

That amp is designed to run at 2ohm for max power. If you have your subs coils wired in parallel your amp might not be able to handle the 1 ohm load as ti is much lower than designed for. Wire them in series and see what happens.

The sub is already wired in series, and the output from them is a 4ohm load....i checked it with a meter....any other ideas guys?

You say the ground is solid but is it clean and in a good location?
Besides that I would double check the leads on the driver to make sure they are solid and not contacting each other or something else when the cone is in motion (ie. basket).
