title says it all what do u think is better between the rockford fosgate power 12 in sub 1000 RMS VS the Alpine X type 12 inch subs also 1000 RMS thanks

I liked Alpine Over RockFord these days but Old School RockFord ill take those any day over Alpine.

 

I would take the T2 over a Type X anytime -- just remember you need minimum 1000w RMS for either 2000w RMS better

 

ya i like them both prob gonna buy one or the other just trying to deside lol wondering wat other ppl think only thing thats getting me to go alpine is the price alot cheap then the t2's

 

from what ive heard, and ive heard both quite a bit, the alpine is alot cleaner and tighter, but the t2 is definatly louder. i'm just waiting for killerklown187 to chime in as hes actually had both of them in his car. give both of them a listen as they are both great subs, and both work very well but in different applications. what is your music preference? what type of box do you plan on using?

 

both woofer are completely different and were engineered with very different applications in mind, the x was never designed to set spl records, the rf was designed as a more output oriented woofer in comparision the x. both do require alot of power to be optimized no doubt. but for sq specifically the alpine is very good, in terms of output capabilities the rf would be a better woofer

 

I didnt hear Klown's Alpine Type X, but I heard his car with a single t2, and with 2 t2's in it. From what he said to me, the T2 is considerably louder and the SQ is almost as good as the type X. However, he did say the Type X was a very nice sub, he was just dissapointed with the volume potential.

I was VERY impressed with the single T2 in his car, he had it in approx. 4cft slot ported and man....that sub kicked some serious a**, and it didnt get sloppy when pushed.

 

SQ and SPL are more a function of enclosure design than of which driver you use. In the right box, any woofer can sound great.

 

to be fair i dont think the type x ever got a proper enclosure and the t2 has been in a few...i think it would be a personal preference thing...the boy said it best though, the type x is definatly an sq woofer

 

yeah, I have run both, and I love both subs, but I lean towards the T2. Overall its a WAY better sub, I heard 2 alpine type x in a box built to spec(MAo can vouche this one) and HOLY CRAP!, BUT I have a single in right now with about 800watts going to it(big amp is in the shop) and I can hit a 142.6 Anyday of the week :P... But with my big amp on there, Im breakin a 150 this time and im not taking no for an answer :P...
