I have a JL 10W1 with a rip in the rubber/foam surround

Can it be fixed?

I have heard that Automotive Goop works wonders on torn surrounds. I have never personally tried it though.

Sounds like your surround is toast.

A W1 is a pretty old woofer, isn't it?

yea but I thought the 1's are better then the 0's

Looks like an replacement may be in order. You can find the goop most any were. Hey they even make it in black and it is paintable. It's like zip ties and SPL tape I never leave on an roed trip without it! Only like 5 or 6 $.

If you can pack it up well, and ship it to us, we will re-surround the woofer for you, email service@speakercity.ca www.speakercity.ca (Vancouver BC)and confirm the price of about $80-90 plus shipping .

It'll be as good as new.

For that price he could get another woofer.

Yea, they still make surrounds for those... complete recone kits too...

I don't like bagging on ELI cause he sounds like a great & knoledgable guy... but $80 + shipping does sound pretty high...

We are talking a $7 surround and 15min time... even at a shop rate of $100/h... well, you get the picture.....
