I have seen trucks with a passthrough, where the back of the cab is cut out as well as the front of the box and cap. I am guessing this must cause some structual problems. Anyone know of sites on this kind of info?

It doesn't really affect the overall structure of the vehicle. I mean sure, in Germany your car would be pulled from the road during a TUV inspection, but I have done a ton of them, and they all worked great. The large flat panels you are removing don't contribute significantly to the structural rigidity of the truck.

I have an s-10 with a blow through, i have done via the box and through a canopy...i have owned the truck for 16 years...i can help yeah

Are we talking a blow-through or a walk-through. One is a little more invasive

I guess it would be more of a walk through. Wanting to give the truck a Blazer type look from the inside. Refinishing the standard cab and the box with cap as well

Depends on the shop that does the work then. Get references and GO SEE THEM so you can see how well they are standing up.
Walk-throughs were popular out here a decade or so ago. I saw some good ones and some disasters.. |
