just wanted to say hey to everyone, was lookin on the net and was happy to find a canadian site for car audio. i live in ontario and have leanred so much from here already, so thank you all. got a quick question? what is the law on installing video screens in a car in ontario? can they be in view of a driver as long as there not playing a movie while driving? or to have it in the dash does it ahve to be GPS with audio as well

sorry about that. i have really stubby fingers and when i try to type to fast they dont' tend to keep up with what i'm thinking or the keys i need to hit. typically hit 2 at once. so sorry for that i will try and slow down. jsut really excited to get the unit in and was really eager to ask the question so i could hopfully get it in tomoro. so deeply sorry again everyone

is the screen an in dash unit or what, as far as i know you can have them there just not playing while driving. most times they are wired to your e brake so you cant watch. but you can get around that from the driver seat of my ride you can see two screens amd i havnt got in yet.

u can also get a by pass to pass that switch which will allow you to play the video while driving, although i can't really say that i would recommend that for yours and more importantly other peoples safety

I saw a news item about distractions while driving. It said that DVD players are becoming one of the major causes of accidents. This news item said it was illegal in ontraio to have a DVD playing that the driver can see. New players come with a lockout so you can't play DVD's while in drive, and lisenced installers are responsible to hook that up.

Personally, I think indash navigation units are almost as bad. I was cut off and almost into a gardrail, by a lady who was busy reading her directions instead of watching the road.

went to the local shop today and just posting up for others use. it is ok to have as long as you are not playing it while driving. atleats in ontario. thank youall for the quick help
