Hey if anyone here is interested, I am in the process of resolving that guy screwing me out of my money. Here is a link to the forum that I posted on.

Just so you know, whatever happens on this forum, don't ever buy from him.

Thanks,

how do you tell if a capacitor is not working???

Bzzliteyr 05-10-2004 05:23 AM

Hmmm, it doesn't "capacit" anymore?

Bzz

Father Yuli 05-10-2004 06:19 AM

and how do you determine whether it is capaciting or not?

Bulldogger 05-10-2004 07:07 AM

That's one of my old 2500D's, and ya it was f***ed when it went to auction. Good luck man

BooLeaN 05-10-2004 07:35 AM

Thanks guys. The way I knew the capacitor was broken was it had a huge dent in it. I don't know what that will do but I was advised not to use it.

u can use the chip a cap usually comes with to charge it and use a volt meter to see if it holds a charge or if it is screwed. But thats beside the point, man that sucks craig good luck with that. Is he even on this forum?

152.5 05-10-2004 07:48 AM

best advice i guess is to get pics before you get stuff shipped, it's always best to see the gear your gonna buy. Also check his references, make sure their just not his friends that live near him so he can have lots of feedback.

BooLeaN 05-10-2004 11:33 AM

Ya it is really tough. The hard part is I saw pics of everything before buying except the cap. He did have a few references so I am still kindof confused as to why he is doing this but I have been told that the references he has are only satisfied because he stole the things he sold them from his mother's car stereo shop.

He does not come on this forum, but I figured that you all go on others as well. If he posts on sounddomain and you missed my post there about him being a scammer then this can prevent you from dealing with him.

Thanks for your support everyone. As for Gilligans Hitch, do you have any more of those amps? Broken or not? Also I read the ebay auction and it said that you had a birth sheet. How much power did that thing do at 1 ohm and 2 ohm if you remember?

I might be getting an amp out of this, and the guy called my hours lastnight looking for me but I was at work.

I think things might work out afterall, but time will \tell.

Thanks,
Craig G

LOL thanks Anyways, I'm not prepaired to lose my money here so I am excercising all of my options.

I just heard back from a collection agency that I contacted the other day. So I will use that as a last resort ;)

Does anyone know if I am legally allowed to call my credit card company and dispute the charges?

I did not pay Dustin directly with Visa, but I paid paypal with Visa and Dustin with Paypal??

I just don't want to get myself in a bunch of trouble.

Any ideas?

^^ If it's within a month then yes u can dispute the charges, if not then you're SOL.

BooLeaN 05-11-2004 10:16 AM

Thanks, unfortunately it has been over a month, but I have talked to Visa and they are going to do an investigation. There is no telling what will come of it, but they said they might be able to get me some money.

It sucks though, because I had money on my paypal account so only 47 dollars of 365 went onto my visa that I will be able to dispute. There is still another 200 dollar charge that I am disputing as well.

Thanks,
Craig G

Thanks Pro-Rabbit. Seems that there was a whole lot of drama going on. As a buyer it is too hard to tell what is happening.

After all has been said and done, Pro-Rabbit has refunded me the full amount plus 40 USD for the broken equipment and says that he is working on getting my Planet Audio amp out as soon as it comes back from the distributor.

Thanks everyone for your support, thanks Dustin for fixing the situation.
