If both subs are identical you should not be able to run them at 2 and 4 ohms separately. A dual 2ohm sub can be wired at 1 or 4 ohms. A dual 4 ohm sub can be wired at 2 or 8 ohms.

...unless you have one of each...

he might be better running 1 ported at 2ohm if they are dual 4ohm. at least it would be getting the rms power. if you ran them the way i said before, each sub would only see 350rms. i would run 1 for now if they are dual 4. upgrade your amp to something that puts out somewhere in the 1800-2000rms range at 1ohm and run both later. that would be what i would do as long as they are dual 4ohm.

you hav two 1000w rms subs and only one 1000 wrms amp.

Looks to me like you need another amp.

(this is how i ended up with 6 amps)

I'd recommend you switch the order on the cap and big 3. If you do the big 3 first, along with a better alternator you might find that you don't need the cap at all. Actually, you should probably just do the big 3 before anything else.

Or he just needs a bigger amp and get rid of the one he currently has...
