Is this Setup any good ?
Ok my cousin bought one MTX TA5601 and Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D4 subwoofer ... The amp is not 1 ohm stable and alot of people told me and him that MTX amps are under-rated , is that true ?
Will this amp be enought to power this Premier Sub which is Rated at 1000W RMS ? And is it enough bass for everyday listening btw his trunk is fully Dynamated and he has a 2008 335i Coupe ? |
First the sub can be hooked up in 8ohm or 2 ohm, so a 1 ohm stable amp is irrelevant.
Sub specs 1000w rms and 3000w peak Amp RMS Power Output: 300 Watts x 1 @ 2 Ohm, 150 Watts x 1 @ 4 Ohm Peak Power Output: 600 Watts x 1 @ 2 Ohm, 300 Watts x 1 @ 4 Ohm Your amp is way underpowered imo, and I have no idea about mtx amps being under rated, but based on the specs.... way underpowered |
get an amp that pushes between 800 and 1000watt rms at 2ohm
|
and yes its engough for a daily driver if your pushing 1000watt
|
dude, nothing is under rated.
are the same guy that was asking if "this is good"? from like 2 weeks ago. |
I had a premier T-SWspl series sub, on 12 on 400 watts and top tl score of 142 and it was fine for the whole year like that. Also had 3500 on it at one time and the amp crapped out on me not the sub. Run a solid 1000 rms to it and youll be pleased both sound and spl wise.

The amp is actually 600 RMS @ 2 ohms not peak u should check the specs first
