Shallow mount box dimensions
okayi am wanting to put my 12" kicker cvt (shallow mount) in my single cab s10. I bought mdf today to build the box but idk what way I should build it and how big. Does anyone know the dimensions of a box that would it?

What do you want to acheive? loud means bigger box and port....therefore, 1 -1.5cuft would probably be the volume. SQ means sealed and smaller box .75 -1cuft. I am not familiar with kicker, although we did hit 143 db in a 1984 S-10 single cab. with 2 premier 12" subs...Ported at both ends, separated in the middle, subs as close to the middle as possible. Check out box building sites, you shouldn't go wrong.

There are lots of online box calculators to help with ports (if applicable) and box shape/enclosure design & volume. |
Wow,
I didn't realize that kicker shallows, were not so shallow??? Most shallows for 12" are about 3" mounting depth. 1 -12" kicker in the right box should create a lot of bass. |
