so i was upgrading my wiring from 2 runs of 4awg to 4 runs of it and was taking my 150 amp fuse out and noticed it had been getting hot enough to discolour. the amp has built in 200, so i'm thinking i should just go with a 200amp fuse.

here's a somewhat crappy pic of the fuse.

and for kicks all the dam wiring that went into my car which was all free :)
it's about 150 feet of 4guage.

well, all it takes is a little short someplace.... my insurance will replace my car but they will have a laugh at my 3000$ car stereo. lil bit of resistance and a pain in the ass ill put the fuse in:)

WHY THE **ck do u have them. If your doing sq sure .. spl.. NO NO .. u will be laughed at on the lanes my man. Im not being an ass, just talking the truth.

i guess i can just rely on my amps fuses... i never planned to enter any compilations as this is just my daily driver or rather my only driver. well see if i can't get a decent db with the power wire upgrade. i don't even know what class i fit into or what classes there are.

Killer_klown187 04-20-2010 09:51 PM

swap in the 200amp fuse, Since this is your DAILY used vehicle...

jalat 04-20-2010 11:29 PM

Only reason I dont use fuses anymore, is because if you properly route your power cable, there should never be any chance of a short happening.

, I have my 8AWG thru my door jam unfused and no issues...

Spawn-Inc 04-21-2010 12:05 AM

not worried about it shorting anywhere, more so wanting to put less then 200 amps, ideally 180 so i would protect the amp some more. but then again they put in 200 for a reason.

already have the 200 amp fuse so i will use it.
