I wanna run the rear speaker wires to the front of my car. However i'm just curious as to wether I would suffer from sq loss or anything like that If I addon another set of speaker wire to lengthen the rear wire so it can get to the fronts?

why not just connect new wire from the wiring harness behind the deck? no need to even use the stock wire running to the rear.

cause I don't wanna take my head unit out.. it was a fkin B!@#h to get out the first time.. I think its pretty much stuck in there this time too cause I was pissed off when I cut myself on the edge so I jammed it back in there pretty good.. good luck anyone tryin to steal it.. haha

what about connecting 2 different gauges of speaker wire together? the stock is prolly 16 right? would connecting a 14 or 12 gauge to the rear wires to bridge them to the speaker crossovers hurt anything?

No, heavier speaker wire won't hurt anything.

but would i lose any sq in bridging wire like that?

Well, that's debatable. It all has to do with how well you connect the wires to each other. One piece of unbroken wire is no doubt preferable, but one properly done splice on a relatively low power source (headunit) should be inaudible. Think about it, you've got the connection from the headunit to the harness, the harness is probably connected to an adapter, the adapter is connected to your factory wiring, the factory wiring may have another point like the door harness with another connection, and then the wire is finally connected to the speakers. Add a few more connections if you have crossovers. It's more quality of connection than number of connections.

yah thats what I figured.. i'm not gonna solder.. i'll probably just buy some of those wire caps. tnx
