Single speaker that puts out stereo sound?

Do they make a speaker, for older cars with a single speaker in the middle of the dash, that accepts both the left and right channels and puts out stereo sound? I know they make them for home audio in ceiling speakers but do they make them for car audio for in the dash?

Thanks

Maybe thats a better idea... is 4" the smallest they make now or do they still make 3.5"? I think there is room in the dash but the grill opening part that would let the sound through might kind of cover the outside edges or the speakers.

whats the point of trying to do stereo from a mono location?
there's no separation between the speakers, you wont have the stereo sound.

just bridge two channels to mono and call it a day.

Because how do you bridge when you are just using head unit power to run the dash speakers?

they still make 3.5 inch

you might stereo separation by tilting them outwards

the dodge just had them facing down

use a pair of these..very good full range sound and small enough to fit 2 of them in your location..plus they are 4ohm and can easily handle deck power.

Have you used these yourself? Do they sound as good as a pair of quality 3.5"?

There are adaptors to go from 1x 4x10" to 2x 3.5". In most cases you could fit 2x 4" in that location. Go with a good pair of coax in there.

I have them in my car currently..used with 1" tweets, and 6.5" midbass in a 3 way system...excellent build qulaity and SQ. However, I suggest them only if you can't fit larger speakers. A good quality 3.5" or 4" would be better if they can fit. These are great if you can't fit larger speakers and you need a quality speaker that fits.
