Sliding Sub Box In My Trunk - What To Do?
 

So I've got a single sub that's sliding all over the place in my trunk. It doesn't help that the sub is sitting on top of where the spare tire is hiding below and on top of the swiveling piece of fabric in the trunk.

Any ideas as to how to solve this problem without ruining the box? The box has fabric, as does the trunk.

I used L brackets to secure them down. I only screwed the bottom part of the bracket down to the mdf, and then applied foam tape on those sides that are in contact with the box :)

L bracket and screw it down. just watch for the gas tank. OR L bracket and use a small T nut and bolt it to the floor. when you want it out just take it out easely

L-brackets and a few screws, velcro patch, tie downs, false floor built with a fence to hold the box in place...as far as a few screws ruining the box...it won't and quite honestly, sub boxes are rarely worth a damn after you buy them. The safest way is to bolt it down as I've done with mine using 3x 1/4 inch thick L-brackets and nuts and bolts in the floor, with heavy duty screws in the box....if the box is small, just 2 will do, and you can even use just self tapping metal screws into the trunk. On a side note, I know everyone gets all nervous about putting holes in the car, but realistically, you probably will be getting rid of the car long before the holes in the floor are ever an issue! I know....I used to be the same way, but unless you have a rare car that has significant value...don't sweat it. Hell my car was 50 G's brand new...but it's not anymore!!!lol

I'm not planning on keeping the box and would rather sell it some time in the summer. That sale would probably get me $20 (would it not?) so if that means a safer and more satisfying winter with the sub, maybe I'll do it.

I'll have to think it over, it wasn't my first thought in solving this problem.

try bungee cords. used that in a friends car, but you need to have the right place to hook them too so that can be a but annoying

avoid the bungee...one set up I had, used bolt down U-plates and a ratchetting strap like the guys use for snowmobiles. It was very strong and secure, and quick to move or remove the sub box, additionally, it was great for transporting other stuff that needed to be tied down...like bodies..lol..

yep, that at he wanted to make it easy to remove since he wasn't that good with tools and was always taking and picking up people from the airport. for a while we used them to hold up a net and create a mesh fence kinda thing. that worked for sliding back and forth and it looked kinda cool
