If the spiders are stiff Id consider that to be a good thing... Id expect em to loosen up.....

Steve I was thinking I should grab up a 12 or 15 to beat up with my behrigner EP2500, but I never even found time to even call you last week... Ill try and catch you tomorrow or something...

i do indeed have a 10" as per my signature.

as for does it slam? well no, not yet anyway. I am by no means pushing it hard with only about 4hrs play time on it so far. It has a lot of loosening to do for sure before i'm willing to get it moving a lot. its just stiff and not moving a lot yet. i did notice a slight difference between this morning when in left and the last hour drive home tonight so that does show signs that things will get better. I'm also thinking about making another box for it as i feel that the .5cube net that i have now is a little small for it... i think i've got some mdf laying around somewhere so i may make a tad larger box for it to see what that does for it... or i might be lazy and add some polyfill to make it seem a bit bigger in the mean time

so everyone knows i am still running my Kicker 1200.1 @2ohm to the sub so its seeing 600w of clean power currently... well probably a bit less as i set the gains a bit lower than they were on the last sub but once it gets some more play time i'll grab my DMM and get it set properly again to around 600w rms

so today's coles notes
-super stiff spider= not a lot of movement
-if the output that i'm seeing now is the best that it gets (i highly, highly doubt that it is) I'd be very disappointed.
-there was a somewhat noticable difference in sound after one full day of play time which IMO bodes well for a LOT more improvement for this driver than what i've seen today

so its wired in parallel right now?
did you try series, if im not mistaken series doubles the motor strength, and that may help loosen up faster, but idn if steve would reccomend it
and you would lose alot of power

I think wiring in series would double the bl of the driver, but from what I gather, there's more to motor strength than that. Just because you have a higher bl doesn't mean it'll loosen up any faster, since like you said, there will be not nearly as much power going to it at this higher resistance. I think if you really wanted to loosen it up, just run a low tone free-air for hours or power the hell out of it!
