So I bought a 4 channel amp yesterday.
I spend the better part of today and last night hooking it up. ITs a JBL CS60.4. So far, Im pretty impressed with the difference between the deck power and this thing..
Im not quite sure how to fine tune it for the best sound. My major concern right now, is the sound im getting out of my rear 6x9's. It seems im getting pure bass out of it. Is it suppost to be like this? ITs a 2 way speaker..so I figured ide get something other than bass out of it. Ill post pics of the setup later, Im quite proud of myself considering im 17 and this is my first car and all. |
Turn the dial that says "HPF" (high pass filter) up till your satisfied.

Nope, thats not it. I went to the guy I bought it off of and he says my 6X9's are acting like subs. Now I didnt hook them up to the sub out :P, so I dont know what to do.
I switch the RCA's and beautiful sound comes out of my 6x9's so I know theres nothing wrong with them, its how I have them hooked up. Help? |
some decks have a setting to change the RCA outputs to front/sub or front/rear.
Change the setting on the deck. You might have to read the manual. :) |
Is the crossover set to LPF? If so, it will cut off all of the high frequencies, and the speakers will be acting like subs.....

I figured it out, boy do I feel like a nub. Long story short, I had a sub hooked up before this amp, and when we installed the amp my buddy plugged the amp rca's into the rear preout on the deck. I switched them around and my car is pumping hard.
